MISSION STATEMENT
The Journal of Ministry and Theology is a biannual journal published by the Baptist Bible Seminary of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. It is devoted to the growth of pastors and educators through interaction with contemporary critical issues and methodologies from the perspective of a biblical worldview. The journal provides a forum for faculty, students, and friends of BBS to apply theology in ministry for the benefit of local church and parachurch organizations. Regular features of the journal include articles on biblical exegesis; pastoral, biblical and systematic theology; ethics; church history; missions; and ministry issues.
JMAT SPECIFICATIONS
1. Reflect a broad awareness of contemporary issues in exegesis, theology, ministry and leadership.
2. Submit articles in MicroSoft Word format. Please send as an email attachment to the attention of Dr. Gary Gromacki, editor of The Journal of Ministry and Theology. <ggromacki> at <bbc> dot <edu>. Please let the editor know your name, address, phone number, and email address when you send in an article or book review.
3. Use footnotes to document sources . Titles of books should be italicized and not underlined. Articles within journals should be in quotation marks with the volume or journal title in italics.
4. Use a formal presentation. Avoid frequent references to yourself in the first person. Avoid the use of the editorial "we" or "I." Avoid using "this writer." Do not use contractions, slang, or popular cliches (such as "this argument does not hold water"). Avoid unnecessarily long sentences, paragraphs, and sections.
5. Submit articles that are ten to twenty pages (single spaced) in length. Longer articles may be divided into two articles for publication purposes.
6. Book reviews should be one to two single spaced pages in length. Each review should be submitted in a MicroSoft Word format. The book review should give all the bibliographic data for the book including author, title of the book, place of publication, publisher, date of publication, and number of pages. The book review should be on a book that has just been published (within one year of date of publication of the journal). It should include a sentence or two about the author. The review should also contain a summary of the book's contents, a critique of the book including strengths and weaknesses, and a recommendation (pro or con) about purchasing and using the book.
JMAT DEADLINES
1. The deadlines for submission of an article or book review are: January 1 for the spring issue and July 1 for the fall issue.
2. The editor will read the articles and/or book reviews and let the author know if the article or book review submitted will be used.
