Though most of the site from which this genealogy web is "hung" have moved to a new server, the genealogy pages have not yet been moved. They will stay here for the time being. If I ever get time to produce an updated set of data pages, then this section may move also.
Surnames that are of particular interest on this site include: DECKER, PLACE, CROMPTON, ALBERTSON, and ARTHUR. (Other related surnames are listed on the surname page; see the link above.) This particular branch of the Decker family is located largely in northeastern Pennsylvania. That is also true of the other surnames listed here. Most of these families trace their origins back to the British Isles. The Deckers, at least, seem to have settled first in New York state when they came to America. Some of the evidence for that can be seen in the following map based on the 1850 census data.

You will quickly discover that this is an amateur site. Professionals maybe disappointed to find no documentation here (though some exists off-line). Sorry, but there hasn't been either the time, need, or interest to include such data at this point. (That horrifies a true genealogist, but the interest of this site is more curiosity than profession and it doesn't have any eternal significance anyway.) Navigation on the family pages/cards that follow is fairly intuitive. Clicking the links above the family names (i.e., the parents) will take you backwards through the genealogical tree to the ancestors of the family listed on the page, and clicking the links at the bottom of each page (the children) will take you forward to the descendants.
This rather large site was first posted on 4/26/99. A major revision was posted 6/1/99 which attempted to better handle privacy concerns of living persons. If you find any broken links or other problems (including living persons for whom inappropriate data has been included inadvertently), please send a note to the site owner. Any additions, corrections, etc. to the data are, of course, welcome as well. Thanks. I've accumulated additional data in the past years, and one of these days I just need to make time to regenerate this web site to reflect that info. But it hasn't happened yet.
