Smith, Rutgers University) A large and wide-ranging collection of materials, mostly relevant extracts from primary source material, related to the social, historical, and religious background of the NT. Also includes helpful secondary material that summaries the following people: Josephus, The Hasmonean Dynasty, The House of Herod, The House of Caesar, Roman Rulers, Persona in Rabbinic Tradition; as well as these additional items: Map: Land of Israel in 1st c. • Eusebius, Ecclesiastical History, Cambridge Seminar for NT PhD students (Prof. G. N. Stanton) 2002-2003, This web page has been created alongside a series of seminars for PhD students in NT studies held in the Divinity Faculty of the University of Cambridge. The purpose of the seminar is to read Eusebius' Ecclesiastical History with one eye on its relevance for New Testament studies.
